Cancer Rehabilitation Awareness Week starts on the 19th September 2022.
If you, or someone you love, has a cancer diagnosis, there are many ways that a trained cancer rehab physio can help - and it is important that we raise awareness that these services exist.
Call into any of our clinics and pick up one of our brochures for more information on the services we can offer to anyone with a cancer diagnosis.
FUNDRAISING
Earlier this year, we offered a Prostate Cancer Rehabilitation class in our Naracoorte clinic. The men were able to attend for free, thanks to funding provided by the Pinc and Steel Foundation.
In July, GCP had a team doing Dry July and we raised over $1000 for the Pinc and Steel Foundation! Since then, we have learned that we will be able to receive funding from the same foundation for another cancer rehab class before the end of 2022.
We are grateful to be able to offer these classes to our community.
Did you know that physical activity can reduce the risk of cancer recurrence by 35%?
Only 5% of all people with a cancer diagnosis are referred to rehabilitation. This is a really worrying statistic and one we hope to change by being involved with #CRAW22.
Cancer rehabilitation can be preventative, restorative, supportive and palliative.
We encourage you to get in touch with us to find out how our cancer rehab physiotherapists can help.
