250+ Fat Farmers in South Australia getting active!

In 2010 in the Yorke Peninsula town of Maitland, a small group of famers decided it was time to get more active as their current farm work was not enough exercise to stay healthy.

Fat Farmers is a rural health initiative designed to inspire and encourage rural communities to improve their health and wellbeing with exercise. Groups can be found throughout South Australia including farmers from diverse farms, varying ages and varying fitness levels. The groups participate in local fun runs/walks, bike rides and train in local communities and gyms together. Their activities are family-friendly and have a focus on having fun.

Simon Ballinger is the Team Coordinator for Bordertown. If you are interested in joining your nearest group, visit the Fat Farmers website. It would be great to start a group in the Mid-Lower South East so if you know of anyone interested, get in touch with Fat Farmers!
