Pilates

Good Country Physiotherapy provides Pilates mat classes to people of all ages and fitness levels in Keith, Bordertown and surrounding areas.

We use Clinical Pilates techniques to achieve the following key aims:

  1. To improve core strength and stability
  2. To help control movements of the arms and legs
  3. To improve flexibility
  4. To improve posture
  5. To increase balance and coordination
  6. To develop controlled breathing and enhance mind-body awareness

Clinical Pilates will help you to use your body in the correct alignment using the correct muscles. This means that your movements are more efficient and controlled, therefore helping with healing and preventing injuries through safe movement.

Pilates is appropriate for many different conditions, including back and neck pain; during and after pregnancy; and people who suffer recurrent lower limb injuries (eg hamstring, knee, ankle). It is also highly effective for people who participate in regular Pilates classsport and/or people who want to help prevent injury. If you are not sure whether Pilates is suitable for you, then please contact one of our clinics.

All Pilates class participants have an initial musculoskeletal assessment to evaluate any past or present injuries and determine whether they can participate.
